Why did we start this?
If you are reading this, then most likely you have children. I started this because I have two younger kids who are very tech savvy and who like online gaming.
We all want to protect our kids and never want to see any harm come to them. Online predators are becoming more and more common and there is a real need to educate not just the kids, but also the parents who can be clueless when it comes to technology.
Creating this presentation and teaching this class has become a real passion for me. If giving this presentation opens up a dialogue between kids and their parents, then we will consider it a win.
Your Presenter
I have been a been with a local Arizona police department for over 20 years. I have been a detective for 10 years and have investigated everything from thefts to homicides. I am now a detective with the Computer Forensics Unit and also the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, investigating the crimes covered in the topics discussed in my presentation.
I have a Bachelors of Science in Adult and Technical Education through Northern Arizona University and also an instructor at the Police Academy. I was also in the Military Police and a Paratrooper in the US Army.
